Hiatus & Comeback
After the first intense phase, leading up to the debut album "Seelenkiller" (2010) — Top 10 in the German Electronic Webcharts with the title single (#8, December 2008) and 6th place worldwide at the Sonic Seducer Battle of the Bands — Schwarzes Fragment went on stand-by for many years. The official statement followed in August 2014. Martin shifted his focus to his international tech-speaker career with over 280 talks, keynotes and meetups worldwide on augmented reality, robotics, deepfakes, generative AI and other future topics — recognitions including Oracle JavaOne Rockstar, Intel Black Belt, Intel Software Innovator.
But Schwarzes Fragment was never entirely gone. "Without music, I'm only half a person," read the statement at the time.
The return began in 2021 — with the remix album "The Lack of Yourself" and a renewed appearance at the Sonic Seducer Battle of the Bands (#13), which brought fresh energy. When a planned concert evening with Irrlicht and Illuminate fell through in 2023, it didn't become an ending but a restart: "Now more than ever!"
Since 2024, Schwarzes Fragment is back on stage: Alte Mälzerei, Dark City Festival, Rocklounge, Darkflower, DUNKELSTROM, Club From Hell, Dark Affair. The machine is running again.
